Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. The register records that he was aged 26 at the time of his death, and the son of the late William and Clara Clayton of Hapton, Burnley, Lancashire.

In our issue from last Saturday was the report of Lieutenant Norman Clayton being killed in action. Now news has come through that his brother, Private Rowland Clayton, has also just died from wounds. Previous to enlistment he was employed in the Burnley Corporation Electricity Department.
